British Invasion music legends The Who brings The Song is Over — North American Farewell Tour to Vancouver this week.
Since exploding out of the U.K. in the mid-1960s, the band made its name through fiery performances at such culturally defining moments as the 1967 Monterey Pop Music Festival and Woodstock Music Festival in 1969. The 1979 tragedy of 11 fans being trampled to death at Riverfront Coliseum in Cinncinatti is also part of the group’s history.
Over the decades, the Who has called it quits a few times and weathered the deaths of groundbreaking drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle.
Announced on May 8, The Who The Song Is Over—North American Farewell Tour will wind down in the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, Calif., on Oct. 1. Given the band’s tendency to say goodbye and then come back again, the only certain thing is that this is the last show on this tour.
