School is back in session, so now is the perfect time to upgrade your beauty routine. Building your own go-to beauty kit is going to be a game-changer, and I’ve put together a few must-have items that will have you looking fresh, feeling confident, and feeling amazing every single day of the school year.
Hair
One of the best perks of the fall season is that it’s the perfect time to refresh your look, starting with your hair. Faith’s hair was getting to be too long and the ends were feeling dry and unruly. I eliminated several inches from length, creating a one-length silhouette. For added body and movement, I incorporated square layers and long face framing to help support a soft and bouncy blowout.
Product must-have: If you’re experiencing product or oil build-up in the hair, I highly recommend investing in a clarifying shampoo. One I often suggest is the Kristin Ess Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo. Use this once per week, or as needed, to help remove mineral deposit, product buildup, excess oils and even silicone buildup over time.
Face
To keep the complexion fresh and effortless, I suggest using a tinted moisturizer. When it comes to evening out the complexion, I find that the CoverGirl Clean Fresh Skin Tint Foundation is a great staple. I have this in my makeup kit and find it very easy to work with. Plus, it is free of parabens, sulfates and mineral oils, and it’s vegan.
Product must-have: Concealer is one product I could never live without and comes in handy to brighten up under the eyes and for touching up blemishes. Give the Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Cakeless Full Coverage Waterproof Liquid Concealer a try.
Bronzer and Blush
I love a product that works double duty, and bronzer is that product for me. It contours the face, warms up the complexion and it can double as an eyeshadow. My go-to bronzer is NARS Laguna Talc Free Bronzer Powder.
Product must-have: Another multi-use product I’m obsessed with is the Milk Cosmetics Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Stick. It’s a great 2-in-1 that builds and blends effortlessly.
