The buzz:Plenty Mini Mini Market.
What to know: Vancouver retailer Plenty is setting out to support the “next generation of creatives” with a cool pop-up market.
Taking place Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their flagship Kitsilano store (2803 West Broadway), the market event sees the homegrown clothing retailer team up with local community art space Collage Collage to celebrate and support young makers ages six through 14. Eleven young artisans are set to participate in the event.
“The Mini Mini Market with Collage Collage reflects our long-standing commitment to independent artists and emerging creators, celebrating craftsmanship, individuality, and community spirit,” said Murat Imren, CEO of Plenty. “By platforming kid entrepreneurs, we’re nurturing the next generation of dreamers and doers, all while building meaningful connections within the Vancouver community.”
Dubbed the Mini Mini Market, the temporary pop-up will feature a variety of handmade items such as clay creatures, cookies, art and jewelry, all made by local young artisans. Interested makers can also take a seat to try their own hand at creating at craft table provided by Collage Collage.
Founded in 1989, Plenty is positioned as a community-focused retailer, collaborating with local artists and brands. The company currently operates nine retail stores throughout Western Canada.
