Q: For those who aren’t familiar, what is Ma Folie?
A: Ma Folie is a Vancouver-based engagement ring studio offering handcrafted rings using ethically sourced sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and both lab-grown and natural diamonds.
Q: What makes it unique?
A: Ma Folie specializes in custom and made-to-order designs for people who don’t see their style or values reflected in traditional jewelry stores. We’re not your typical jewelry shop.
Clients love our relaxed, one-on-one consultations in a cozy heritage studio with a beautiful view. It’s a very personal experience. Whether it’s a teal sapphire or a modern diamond, each ring is made from scratch with thoughtful craftsmanship and rare, carefully selected stones. A selection of ready-to-ship rings is also available online.
Q: Who is the target customer?
A: Our rings are for couples getting engaged who want something more personal, meaningful, and unique than what they’d find in a traditional jewelry store. That includes everything from modern diamond rings to vibrant sapphires in every color of the rainbow.
Most couples choose the ring together. Once the design feels right, we keep working with the proposer so the proposal can still be a surprise.
Q: Where are the pieces designed/made?
A: Our rings are designed and made in Vancouver. Specifically they’re designed by Ma Folie’s founder, Cathy, whose passion for gemstones began when she was proposed to with a pink sapphire ring. Our rings are made in Vancouver by our goldsmith who has over 25 years of experience.
Q: What is the price range?
A: Custom rings start at $5,000. Many clients spend between $6,000 and $12,000 depending on the design and stone.
