A Perfect Partnership (APP), the Edmonton studio behind the mobile word puzzle game sQworble, is sponsoring the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation’s 2024 Harvest Celebration, the studio announced in a news release. The sold-out annual celebration dinner on Saturday raises funds supporting the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.

“It actually came about after I ran into an old colleague from a previous contract,” said Cameron Ambrose, lead developer with APP. “They mentioned that their office was sponsoring the fundraiser, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to support something we care about.”

Ambrose says sponsoring the Lois Hole Hospital is important for the team, since women make up the majority sQworble’s roughly 80,000 active monthly players, especially senior women. It wasn’t the only reason, however.

“Many of us know people, directly or indirectly, who have been helped by the Royal Alex and the Lois Hole Hospital,” Ambrose said. “We also have people in our lives who could have benefited from more research and funding for women’s health issues.”

Saturday’s Harvest Celebration took place at the Edmonton Convention Centre. Tickets for the event were sold out, but tickets were still available for the Harvest After Dark after-party.
