Jodi Naylor, a dental professional, was ready for a youthful refresh and a hair clean up to better suit her lifestyle.
Jodi has medium-density, naturally wavy hair. She was finding her length to be unmanageable and lacking shape, and that her colour was making her look washed out.
I wanted to brighten her hair and add depth and contrast to better compliment her complexion and eye colour. Her tonality looked faded and brassy, so I chose a lowlight and a base colour in a cool ash-brown shade to closer match her natural colour. For her highlight, I chose a beige-blond decolourizer to gently lighten her hair and brighten her up.
The results were beautiful and impactful, and we did not require a toner.
I cleansed her hair with K-18 Damage Sheild pH Protective Shampoo with the K-18 Molecular Repair Mask to reverse any damage and repair her hair. I then sprayed the mid-lengths and ends with Oribe Run-Through Detangling Primer for added hydration. I eliminated several inches from her length to create this lovely cropped chin-length textured silhouette. She took it upon herself to cut her own fringe, so I adjusted her part to soften her hairline and to balanced out her fringe; creating a curtain fringe.
Before styling, I applied Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray for body building and fullness then blow dried her hair with a round brush. I touched it up with a curling wand for a little body and movement and finished with Oribe Dry Texture Spray for a built-in rough texture and volume.
Makeup:
Jodi has beautiful facial features, so I kept her makeup very simple. I evened out her complexion with a sheer foundation and contoured her face with a light dusting of bronzer. I used a cream shadow stick on her eyes in a metallic gold shade and filled in her brows to better frame her eyes. I loved the lip combo as it played up her natural tone and pulled the entire look together.
