Three chefs from B.C. are battling it out in the kitchen for the 12th season of Top Chef Canada.
Chefs Alex Kim of Five Sails and Global Restaurant Group in Vancouver, Katy Cheung of Burdock & Co. in Vancouver, and Nick Maharaj of Part and Parcel in Victoria will be heating up the competition alongside seven other professional chefs from across Canada.
Referred to as “Canada’s culinary crème de la crème” and among the “country’s best up-and-coming professional chefs,” the culinary talents will compete in a series of elimination challenges throughout the season in order to see who comes out on top.
Vancouver’s own food expert Mijune Pak returns as a judge for this season, alongside chef-author David Zilber, restaurateur Janet Zuccarini, and chef-owner Mark McEwan.
The latest season of the fan-favourite cooking competition show promises a few firsts, including a Bocuse d’Or-inspired (a famous world chef championship held in France) elimination challenge, as well as dedicated events in support of Pride and an Indigenous film festival, according to a news release.
